The Women's Foundation Partners with The Vagina Monologues, July 04, 2007

On July 4-11, 2007 Springtime Productions brought The Vagina Monologues back to the City Hall Concert Hall with The Women’s Foundation as a supporting organization. A drama performed over 2,000 times in 76 countries, the Hong Kong production featured local actresses Lo Koon Lan, Crystal Kwok and Perry Chiu performing in Cantonese. The Vagina Monologues has won international acclaim for helping girls and women be proud of themselves and their bodies. TWF participated in post-performance panel discussions. In addition, we distributed a questionnaire to gather audience members’ views on gender equality, self-reliance of women, body image and self-perception, and views on gender-related issues. Results of the survey will be posted on our website soon. By partnering with The Vagina Monologues, we hope to promote self- confidence in women and girls and encourage discussion of the way the female body is treated in the community and portrayed in the media.
