Su-Mei Thompson

Su-Mei Thompson joined The Women's Foundation as Executive Director in 2009. In this role, her responsibilities include strategic planning for the Foundation, fund-raising, donor relations, overseeing grants and programmes, as well as government relations, community outreach. Su-Mei started her career as a corporate finance associate at Linklaters before serving in senior management positions at Disney, the Financial Times and Christie’s in the Asia Pacific region. She is an external advisor to the Planning Committee for the Chinese University’s proposed gender studies undergraduate programme and a member of the Women’s Commission’s taskforce for Hong Kong women’s development goals. Su-Mei serves on the board of HKSE-listed Natural Beauty and is a corporate board member of The Cheltenham Ladies College. She also writes for the South China Morning Post on women’s and gender issues. Su-Mei is a graduate of Oxford and Cambridge Universities and earned her MBA at IMD in Lausanne, where she was the first woman to graduate on the Dean’s List.

Rita Ching

Rita Ching joined The Women's Foundation as Program Director in 2009. Rita served at the Employee Retraining Board, a HK statutory body, for ten years, during which time she was responsible for managing placement services for the Government's employee retraining scheme working closely with the Education Bureau, the Labour and Welfare Bureau, the Commission on Poverty, the Labour Department, the Social Welfare Department, as well as the media. She successfully created and launched a number of new programmes including the Integrated Scheme for Local Domestic Helpers, the Training cum Employment Resource Centre initiated by the Chief Executive in his 2007-08 Policy Address, and pioneering the first-ever Information Expo for Secondary School Leavers which attracted over 100,000 visitors. Rita Ching obtained her Masters in Social Policy from the University of York in UK. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Training and HRM from the University of Leicester.

Connie Liu

Connie Liu joined The Women's Foundation as a Management Trainee in 2009. She is a recent graduate from the University of Hong Kong, with a 2nd upper honors degree in Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology and Criminology. During her undergraduate years, she was a volunteer in a charity foundation and an assistant researcher for a number of psychology laboratories. She has a strong interest in gender and social issues, and her graduate thesis was on gay and lesbian relationships in HK community. Connie has a keen interest in Japan and has been studying Japanese for the last 7 years.

Pan Lee

Pan Lee joined The Women’s Foundation as a Program Officer in 2010. He is a recent graduate from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a 2nd upper honors degree in Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology. During his university years, Pan participated in a number of psychology research projects in CUHK and as an intern with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, assisted with the implementation of events for the Club. He is a confirmed “soccerholic” and brings his energetic attitude to the Foundation’s programs.
Senior Research Associate
Jackie Kim

Jackie Kim joined The Women's Foundation as a Senior Research Associate in 2010. She is responsible for coordinating and leading the Foundation's research activities. After earning a bachelor of art's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Jackie joined the Population Council in New York to research the quality of sexual and reproductive health care for women in the developing world. Thereafter, she worked at the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health where she helped monitor and evaluate HIV/AIDS service delivery programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining joining the Women's Foundation, Jacqueline was a Research Associate at the Chinese University of Hong Kong's School of Public Health and Primary Care. In that capacity, she studied macro determinants of health including disasters and climate change among disadvantaged populations in Hong Kong and mainland China.
